CEO James Foster on Virax Biolabs' (Nasdaq: VRAX) Path to 2027 US Diagnostic Launch

Jun. 30, 2026
CEO James Foster joins RedChip to break down new pilot data for Virax Biolabs (Nasdaq: VRAX), a clinical-stage diagnostics company developing first-in-category immune profiling tests for post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS). PAIS — including Long COVID, ME/CFS, and post-treatment Lyme disease — affects an estimated 21 million people in the U.S., with no widely adopted objective diagnostic test. Virax's lead product, ViraxImmune™, is designed to close that gap through blood-based immune dysfunction profiling. New pilot data showed 88% specificity and 92% positive predictive value. Virax has also completed an initial FDA pre-submission meeting, secured two ISO certifications, and has a planned clinical trial with Emory University — steps management says de-risk its regulatory, quality, and clinical pathway. The company holds $6.4M in cash with no debt. Next up: a 300-sample validation study, with results expected Q1 2027 — feeding toward a targeted U.S. LDT launch in 2027.
