Music Industry Vets Band Together to Revolutionize Digital Audio

Technology and the Internet have forever altered the music industry landscape. Today consumers can access millions upon millions of songs through sites and services such as YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and more.
But this easy access has come with a price. Experts estimate the sound quality of digital music to be only 3% of what an artist originally records in the studio. One microcap stock is moving forward with a solution to this problem, and they’ve attracted some of the biggest names in the music industry to their team.
AfterMaster Audio Labs, a subsidiary of Studio One Media (OTCQB: SOMD), has brought together a dream team of co-owners and executives, including multi-platinum recording artist Justin Timberlake and world-class producers and sound veterans, Rodney Jerkins, Larry Ryckman, and Shelly Yakus.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this groundbreaking company,” stated Timberlake. “The first time I heard audio, post AfterMaster, I knew that I had to be a part of this company and that we had something revolutionary on our hands.”
While Timberlake only teamed up the Company in late 2014, renowned entrepreneur, music mogul, and multiple Grammy Award winning producer Rodney Jerkins has been involved with SOMD’s AfterMaster subsidiary for over six years.
Jerkins, one of the most influential and successful producers in the music industry, has a nearly unmatched discography, which includes work with Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, Brandy, Jennifer Lopez, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Keyshia Cole, Britney Spears, Cher, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, Gwen Stefani, The Pussycat Dolls, N’Sync, Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Black Eyed Peas, Ciara, The Spice Girls, and Vanessa Williams.
Jerkins was the first to use AfterMaster technology in the production for a top ten artist when he produced Janet Jackson’s single “Make Me”.
The co-founder and chief engineer at SOMD’s AfterMaster is the reknowned Shelly Yakus, widely considered one of the best engineers and mixers in the music industry and an expert in audio.
Known as “Golden Ears,” Yakus has engineered and mixed recordings for some of the world’s best known artists including John Lennon, Stevie Nicks, Alice Cooper, Van Morrison, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Seger, Amy Grant, Don Henley, U2 and Madonna.
SOMD’s AfterMaster subsidiary has also teamed up with ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ON), a global leader in the semiconductor industry with a $5 billion market cap, to bring its technology to a variety of new applications.
Speaking of the partnership, Robert Tong, Vice President of the Medical & Wireless Products Division at ON Semiconductor, stated, “It has been exciting to work on this project with AfterMaster. We pride ourselves on our industry-leading audio processing technology and are eager to offer a product that will enhance the audio experience across consumer devices.”
Unveiled to great fanfare at CES2015, the product can be used in such devices as cell phones, tablets, sound bars, computers, televisions, headphones, and even clock radios.
SOMD’s AfterMaster technology will also be available in software form for computers and streaming services, and the Company is in the final stages of launching an online music mastering service where musicians can upload songs, receive a re-mastered version and decide to purchase it.
As SOMD executes its joint marketing plan with ON, we anticipate sales and awareness to increase not only in its groundbreaking semiconductor chips, but also in the Company’s music mastering service for independent artists, its AfterMaster hardware products, and the licensing of its AfterMaster software.
With only a $62 million market cap today and solutions for multiple multibillion dollar markets, we expect significant upside for SOMD. Download our fact sheet on SOMD today, and contact a RedChip specialist to learn more about this exciting company.
