The Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Thursday that human genes cannot be patented, opening up new markets for healthcare companies like Cancer Genetics (OTCQB: CGIX) that develop genetic tests.

The case involved two genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2, believed to play a role in the development of breast and ovarian cancer. Myriad Genetics (NasdaqGS: MYGN) discovered and patented the genes, creating a monopoly on their use in genetic tests. The court ruled that the genes, as a product of nature, cannot be patented.

“Myriad did not create anything,” Justice Clarence Thomas wrote. “To be sure, it found an important and useful gene, but separating that gene from its surrounding genetic material is not an act of invention.” The court ruled that synthetic forms of DNA can still be patented.

According to Harry Ostrer, a physician at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, the Supreme Court’s ruling could invalidate patents for as many as 4,000 genes. The ruling paves the way for companies such as Cancer Genetics (OTCQB: CGIX), a developer of DNA-based cancer diagnostics, to move into new markets for genetic testing.

CGIX is an emerging leader in the field of personalized medicine, which is transforming the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. The Company’s products use genomics to diagnose cancer subtype, helping physicians to develop a treatment plan tailored to the patient’s specific genetic profile. Patients receive faster and more accurate diagnoses, leading to increased efficacy and reduced healthcare costs.

CGIX is partnered with the country’s top cancer research centers and healthcare companies. The Company’s new 50/50 joint venture with Mayo Clinic will focus on using next-generation sequencing to develop cancer diagnostics. Initial focus areas will include hematological and urogenital cancers. CGIX is also engaged in research collaboration with leading healthcare organizations including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the Cleveland Clinic, and the National Cancer Institute. Additionally, the Company provides clinical services to major pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and Gilead.

Over $6 billion in the U.S. and approximately $15 billion worldwide is spent annually on cancer diagnostics. CGIX achieved 46% year-over-year revenue growth in the first quarter and is rapidly gaining market share. Due to its strong technology portfolio and large market opportunity, the Company has attracted the attention of billionaire John Pappajohn, who invested $12 million in CGIX and sits on its board of directors. Based upon the Company’s “unrivaled position” within hematological, urogenital and gynecological cancers, brokerage firm Feltl & Company recently issued a Strong Buy rating and a $17.50 price target on the stock.

To learn more about CGIX, watch our interview with CEO & President Panna Sharma from the recent Marcum MicroCap Conference:

MusclePharm (OTCQB: MSLP) recently traded as high as $12.49, a new six-month high. The stock has more than doubled from the mid-$5 range since we interviewed co-founder and CEO Brad Pyatt on “The RedChip Money Report” back in February. Investors are starting to take notice of the opportunity this stock represents. If its first-quarter numbers are any indication, MSLP is poised for a momentous 2013.

MusclePharm is one of the most popular workout supplement brands on the market. Its products are sold in more than 10,000 U.S. retail outlets, including GNC, the Vitamin Shoppe, and Vitamin World. As many as eight of its products consistently rank among Bodybuilding.com’s top 50 best sellers, out of over 14,000 items. MSLP is the official nutritional sponsor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the world’s largest mixed martial arts organization, and is endorsed by numerous UFC fighters, NFL players, and other athletes.

The Company’s rapid sales growth is one reason investors are starting to pay attention. MSLP has achieved triple-digit annual revenue growth over the past four years. The Company generated an estimated $78 million in sales last year and expects to top $100 million in 2013. This growth is particularly impressive when you consider that the Company originally operated out of the CEO’s garage.

MSLP is also posting strong quarterly financial improvements. The Company recently announced record quarterly revenue of $24.9 million (up 29% from the first quarter of 2012) and reported its first quarter of positive adjusted net income. During Q1, the Company also became debt free and reported a working capital surplus for the first time. The cost-cutting initiatives undertaken by the Company over the past two quarters should lead to continued margin expansion going forward.

A key area of growth for the Company is the international market, which constitutes approximately 35 percent of total sales. MSLP’s products are distributed in more than 110 countries, and the Company continues to see strong growth in the EU, Australia, and South America. According to John Bluher, co-chairman and executive vice president of MSLP, the Company’s sponsorship of the UFC plays an important role in international sales growth. As the UFC continues to expand internationally, MSLP is pulled into new markets.

According to the Nutritional Business Journal, nutritional supplements are one of the world’s fastest-growing industries. Consumers spent $32 billion on supplements in 2012. That number is expected to more than double by 2021 as consumers become increasingly health-conscious.

With numerous options for consumers to choose from, why are MSLP’s workout supplements gaining such strong momentum with consumers? One major factor is the strong R&D behind each new product. The Company’s chief medical officer is a leading sports nutrition doctor, and MSLP’s scientific team includes top former researchers from major pharmaceutical companies and government agencies. All MSLP products are free of banned substances, undergo clinical studies, and are tested on professional athletes at the Company’s sports science center in Colorado. The products are also tested and certified by some of the world’s leading independent testing organizations, ensuring their safety and legality.

MSLP was founded by professional athletes; CEO Brad Pyatt is a former NFL player, and Executive Vice President Cory Gregory is an international fitness icon. Consumers trust MSLP’s products because they know the founders use them and live the lifestyle of their customers.

As we’ve previously noted, investors can make a fortune following in the footsteps of highly successful investors such as John Pappajohn and Warren Buffett. One of the most successful investors in the healthcare space is billionaire entrepreneur Dr. Phillip Frost, a member of the Forbes 400. Dr. Frost was the chairman of Key Pharmaceuticals, which Schering-Plough later purchased for $600 million. He then founded pharmaceutical company Ivax, which he sold to Teva in 2005 for $7.4 billion. Dr. Frost led a $12 million round of financing for MSLP in January and is one of the Company’s largest shareholders.

GlyEco (OTCQB: GLYE) continues to make strides in rolling out its revolutionary glycol recycling technology. The green chemistry company announced this week that it has processed and sold several thousand gallons of waste glycol sourced from the textile industry.

Glycol, a liquid chemical made from crude oil and natural gas, is used to create polyester fiber chips, the base material in plastic food and beverage containers, as well as polyester fabrics, carpets, and upholstery. The worldwide textile industry is the largest consumer of monoethylene glycol, with demand exceeding 3.8 billion gallons annually. GLYE’s entry into this tremendous, untapped market is an important milestone for the Company.

During use, glycols become contaminated with dirt, metals, and oils, which cause toxicity and can contaminate soil and groundwater. GLYE’s technology is the only technology currently capable of recycling this hazardous material into virgin-grade Type 1 glycol – while offering a 20 to 50 percent reduction in processing costs over currently available methods.

The Company is targeting customers in five different industries: antifreeze, textile, airline, medical, and HVAC. Worldwide glycol production currently stands at 5.5 billion gallons annually, increasing at a rate of 0.5 billion gallons per year. In the United States alone, manufacturers produce over 700 million gallons of waste glycol per year. Only a fraction of this waste is recycled under currently available technology. As a first mover in this space, GLYE is well positioned to capture substantial market share.

GLYE acquired five glycol recyclers in the last quarter of 2012 and is in the process of upgrading these facilities to produce Type 1 material. According to the Company’s most recent press release, GLYE has completed initial upgrades at its South Carolina plant and is making excellent progress on upgrading the others.

RedChip issued a $3.74 price target on GLYE, an upside of nearly 300% from recent prices. To learn more about GLYE, read the full report or watch our “Money Report” interview with Chairman and CEO John Lorenz:

Cancer Genetics (OTCQB: CGIX) is one of the most compelling opportunities we’ve seen in 2013. The developer of DNA-based cancer diagnostics is emerging as a leader in what looks to reshape the future of oncology care globally. With collaborations and partnerships in place with the most prestigious organizations in cancer care and the endorsement of brokerage firm Feltl & Company, who recently initiated research coverage on CGIX with a Strong Buy rating and a $17.50 price target, 2013 is setting up to be a great year for CGIX shareholders.

CGIX is an emerging leader in a field that’s transforming the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. CGIX’s tests can determine the specific genetic mutation that’s causing the cancer, enabling doctors to make more informed treatment decisions. The Company primarily focuses on hematological, urogenital, and gynecological cancers. According to the Feltl & Company report, CGIX has “an unrivaled position” in these categories.

While the Company’s target markets represent a third of all newly diagnosed cancers in the U.S., only a handful of companies are developing diagnostic tests for these cancers.

Genomic-based cancer diagnostics made major headlines recently with Angelina Jolie’s admission that she underwent a preventative double mastectomy after a genetic test revealed she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer. The actress also considered having her ovaries removed, as the same genetic mutation that sharply increased her breast cancer risk can also cause ovarian cancer.

Ms. Jolie’s announcement has brought widespread attention to the possibilities of DNA-based testing. A recent development that could accelerate the mainstream adoption of DNA-based testing is CGIX’s new joint venture with the Mayo Clinic, the world-renowned healthcare organization. A newly created company, OncoSpire Genomics, equally owned by CGIX and Mayo, will seek to discover and commercialize diagnostic tests that leverage next-generation genomic sequencing technologies. With the combined expertise and resources of both the Mayo Clinic and CGIX, OncoSpire is positioned to create a major impact in the development of advanced genomic-based cancer diagnostics.

Genetic testing is changing physicians’ understanding of cancer, while providing new tools to diagnose and treat cancer patients. Current cancer diagnosis methods are costly and time-consuming, and only 25% of initial cancer treatments are successful. Two patients with the same type of cancer may respond to the same treatment in completely different ways. By uncovering the mechanism behind each cancer case, genetic testing helps physicians create a personalized treatment plan for each cancer patient, increasing the prospects for survival and reducing medical costs.

Genetic testing also ensures a patient receives the care needed. With the wide variety of non-genetic-based testing, it’s not uncommon for a patient to receive inconclusive results from multiple tests. In these cases, insurance providers will often refuse to pay for treatment. This could prove disastrous if that patient in fact needs treatment. With DNA-based diagnostics, physicians can produce conclusive results in every case – making sure their patients get the care that is needed.

Over $6 billion in the U.S. and approximately $15 billion worldwide is spent annually on cancer diagnostics. CGIX is gaining market share in this sizable market, and its technology in its focus franchises is unrivaled today.

There is increasing interest in molecular diagnostics throughout the healthcare ecosystem among four major groups: testing labs, large diversified diagnostic and med-tech companies, biotech and pharma companies, and genomic test and equipment providers.

Community hospitals and laboratories, where 85% of all U.S. cancer patients are initially diagnosed, represent a significant market opportunity for CGIX. Improving patient care and quality is critical for these organizations to stay competitive, and CGIX’s state-of-the-art tests allow these smaller hospitals to provide world-class cancer care to their local communities. By leveraging CGIX testing capabilities, these facilities can expand their level of service and begin to capture major revenue increases through in-house treatment of cancer patients.

Cancer Genetics’ SelectOne program offers testing services to support clinical trials for biopharmas and clinical research organizations, another high-growth area for genetic testing. CGIX has grown the program’s contract backlog from $300,000 to $7.2 million over the past year, and counts top biotechs Roche and Gilead among its customer base.

Top cancer centers such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering and the National Cancer Institute also see the value of CGIX’s technology. CGIX is engaged in research collaboration with these and other leading health institutions on a variety of cancers. Additionally, and further validating the strength of the Company’s technology, many of these organizations are using CGIX for clinical services.

On the payor side of the healthcare equation, CGIX recently signed an agreement with Multiplan, the industry’s most comprehensive provider of healthcare cost management solutions. Under the agreement, the Company’s portfolio of genomic products and services will be available to 900,000 healthcare providers covering an estimated 57 million consumers.

As we recently discussed, billionaire investor John Pappajohn has invested $12 million in CGIX and sits on the Company’s board of directors. Mr. Pappajohn made hundreds of millions investing in early-stage biotechnology companies that are at the front edge of new technologies. The fact that this highly successful investor holds a stake in CGIX speaks volumes about the Company’s long-term potential. Other notable board members include Dr. Andrew Pecora, one of the world’s foremost experts in blood and marrow transplantation, and Tommy Thompson, the former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.

CGIX has achieved strong historical growth, growing revenue at a 26% compounded annual rate and clinical test volume at 30% since 2009. For the most recent quarter, revenue increased 46% and clinical volume increased 19% year-over-year. The Company has also reported annual and quarterly gross profit improvements. Gross profit increased 114% between Q1 2012 and Q1 2013, with gross margin improving from 1.4% to 12.2%.

So what is Cancer Genetics worth today? Let’s look at some recent transactions and other comparables to get an idea. Decode Genetics, in the same business as CGIX, with less than $5 million in revenue, was bought out by Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) for $415 million; Exact Sciences (NASDAQ: EXAS), with less than $5 million in revenue, is trading at a $677 million market cap, over 160x sales. CGIX, with $4.7 million in trailing 12-month revenue, is trading at only 10x sales with a $50 million market cap.

CGIX is at the forefront of a paradigm shift in cancer diagnostics. The Company completed an initial public offering in April and converted $9.6 million of debt into common equity, strengthening the Company’s post-IPO balance sheet. The stock has since been trading for a nearly 20% premium to its offering price and investors are starting to take notice, with a major surge in volume over the past several days.

The divestiture of these assets erases $282,000 worth of debt, adds $0.7 million in cash, and removes contract renewal risk associated with the current budgeting climate in Washington. The sale also frees up LTTC to focus on its fast-growing communications business, which is driving solid sales growth and margin improvement for the Company. Revenue generated by the communications division increased 64.7% year-over-year to $7.5 million for fiscal 2012.

LTTC expects 70% YoY sales growth in 2013 due to increasing domestic and international demand for its secured communications services. The Company’s new cloud-based service offering is expected to further drive sales growth. The system adds additional services to LTTC’s current offerings with minimal upfront cost to the customer.

Shares of LTTC currently trade around $0.10, but the stock is poised to move much higher as the Company expands its service offerings and moves into new markets. RedChip has issued a $0.71 price target on the stock. Learn more about LTTC by watching our recent “Money Report” interview with CEO Paul Burgess:

The Company expects revenues to increase 34.7% year-over-year to $22.5 million, and net income to increase 200% to $4.2 million for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014. Management believes PFIE will continue to find and capitalize on new opportunities in the U.S. oil and gas market.

PFIE’s strong historical revenue growth bodes well for the Company going forward. Between the fiscal years 2008 and 2012, annual revenues for the Company grew 269% from $4.3 million to $15.9 million. Since its inception in 2002, PFIE has grown from a small service company (delivering parts out of an old Buick) into the largest operator in the BMS space, servicing blue-chip multinationals such as ExxonMobil, Husky Oil, Devon Energy, Shell, and ConocoPhillips.

Current penetration for BMS technology in the U.S. is estimated at only 1% to 1.5% of a $2.5 billion to $6.7 billion overall market. With oil and gas operators increasingly focused on improving safety and efficiency, PFIE’s technology fills a huge, unmet market need.

To learn more about PFIE, watch CFO Andrew Limpert’s presentation from the recent RedChip Emerging Growth Showcase:

The Human Genome Project has spawned a new generation of biotechs focused on diagnosing and treating cancer using genetic data in ways that allow scientists, laboratories, clinics, and hospitals to pinpoint the various subtypes of cancer more quickly and accurately than traditional methods such as pathology and morphology. Cancer diagnosis based on genetic analysis, extracting DNA from blood tissue, is a paradigm shift in healthcare. The end result is that healthcare providers can predict and recommend treatment programs that are far more accurate and effective than traditional methods, ultimately saving time, money and resources.

One can make a fortune following in the footsteps of wise and highly successful investors such as John Pappajohn, the billionaire investor who has made hundreds of millions investing early in biotechs that are at the front edge of new technologies. Cancer Genetics (OTCQB: CGIX) recently went public raising $7 million at less than a $50 million market cap. John Pappajohn believes that CGIX’s genetically based cancer diagnostic products are so advanced that he sees a company whose future holds a billion dollar or greater market cap, if it is not bought out before then.

His analysis is based on several comparables, two of which I will mention here: Decode Genetics, in the same business as CGIX, with less than $5 million in revenue, was bought out by Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) for $415 million; Exact Sciences (NASDAQ: EXAS), with less than $5M in revenue, is trading at a $620 million market cap, over 150x sales. CGIX, with a little over $4 million in revenue, is trading at 11x sales. Few investors know the CGIX story. The stock is inefficient. Buy microcaps before they are efficient. That is how John Pappajohn made hundreds of millions of dollars.

For the third time in recent months, the nutritional supplement company was profiled by the business newsmagazine. The latest article, titled “Nutritional Supplements Flexing Muscles As Growth Industry,” includes a discussion of MSLP’s business highlights by industry expert Brian Smith.

MSLP caught the attention of Forbes earlier this year, in the article “Billionaire Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur Makes Bet On Fast Growing Supplement Manufacturer.” That billionaire is Dr. Phillip Frost, who led a $12 million round of financing for MSLP in February (as discussed in another Forbes article). You can see a brief list of Dr. Frost’s previous wins here.

Described by Forbes as “one of the rising stars” in the $32 billion nutritional supplement space, MSLP has achieved triple-digit annual revenue growth over the past four years, generating an estimated $78 million in 2012. The Company expects to reach $100 million in sales this year, bolstered by the strengthening international demand for its award-winning supplements. In 2012, international sales accounted for approximately 35% of total sales, up from 19% in 2011.

MSLP’s products are sold in more than 10,000 U.S. retail outlets and over 110 countries, and they consistently rank among Bodybuilding.com’s top 50 best sellers. The Company’s devoted customer base includes professional athletes such as Ultimate Fighting champion Benson “Smooth” Henderson, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Denver Broncos star wide receiver Eric Decker, and international rugby superstar Quade Cooper, all of whom recently signed endorsement deals with the Company. MSLP is also the official nutritional supplement sponsor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the world’s largest mixed martial arts organization.

One of the key drivers behind MSLP’s success is its powerful scientific team. The Company’s chief medical officer is a leading sports nutrition doctor, and MSLP’s team includes top former researchers from GlaxoSmithKline, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, the National Institutes of Health, and the FDA, as well as the former U.S. Assistant Surgeon General. All MSLP products are free of banned substances, and new products undergo rigorous testing at the Company’s Sports Science Center in Colorado.

The recent addition of former Office Depot executive Richard Estalella to MSLP’s management team should further strengthen the Company’s operations. Mr. Estalella helped grow Office Depot into a $9 billion company, and his track record of delivering strong cost savings and profit improvement will be an asset to MSLP as the Company continues its rapid growth trajectory.

In recent months, shares of MSLP have appreciated from the mid-$5 range to a 52-week high of $11.89. Currently trading around $9, MSLP is poised to deliver huge gains for investors who build a position today.

Moreno, one of the most influential experts in the IP litigation space, published a 75-page white paper on April 10 titled “Diversified Intellectual Property: The Emergence of Document Security Systems.”

The report highlights the investment potential of Document Security Systems (NYSE MKT: DSS), a provider of anti-counterfeit technology. DSS is in the process of merging with Lexington Technology Group, an IP monetization and commercialization company. Through its Bascom Research subsidiary, Lexington is currently engaged in patent litigation against Facebook, LinkedIn, and others, with a Markman hearing scheduled for October 2013.

Key highlights of the report include a history of IP monetization in the public and private sectors, background on DSS and the implications of its pending merger for shareholders, and delineation of risks and upside opportunities for the Company. According to Mr. Moreno, “Although there are many businesses focused on managing and monetizing intellectual property…none are structured to provide the overall level of value, diversification, and favorable risk-return profile as DSS.”

Last year’s heated battle between Apple and Samsung over smartphone technology represented just one of the numerous patent infringement lawsuits taking place in courtrooms across America. In our litigious society, so-called “patent wars” between technology companies are playing out with increasing frequency. A 2012 infographic from Visual.ly, listing many of America’s leading technology and consumer goods companies, shows just how tangled the patent litigation landscape has become.

With millions of dollars at stake in each case, the ongoing patent war can create strong profit opportunities for investors. Companies such as Vringo, Acacia, and VirnetX have made millions specializing in patent litigation. A ruling in favor of the patent holder can cause a significant upswing in the stock, as exemplified by Vringo (NYSE MKT: VRNG), up more than 100% over the past year; and ParkerVision (NasdaqCM: PRKR), up 300% over the past year. A jury awarded Vringo $30 million last year in its suit against Google, and ParkerVision recently received the go-ahead to proceed with its case against communications giant Qualcomm. Investors who built early positions in Vringo and ParkerVision reaped huge gains as the stocks skyrocketed.

One candidate to become the next big patent stock is Document Security Systems, Inc. (NYSE MKT: DSS). DSS is in the process of merging with Lexington Technology Group, a private company focused on patent monetization and commercialization. The merger, which is expected to close in spring 2013, will bring $7 million in cash, a strong IP portfolio, and a management team with a proven track record in patent monetization. Incoming CEO Jeff Ronaldi has realized more than $160 million in gains on $12 million in patent investments over the past two decades. He played an instrumental role in successful patent verdicts against Genzyme, Citrix Systems, and Microsoft, the latter resulting in a $60 million settlement.

Lexington’s subsidiary, Bascom Research, is engaged in patent infringement suits against five defendants, including Facebook (NasdaqGS: FB) and LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD). The suits allege that the defendants are violating key patents covering the manner in which users and application developers on social networks make connections between “objects” such as photos, people, events and pages. A key hearing in the case is set for October 2.

The value added by Lexington complements DSS’ strong underlying business. DSS provides anti-counterfeiting and authentication technology to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Counterfeiting costs the global economy an estimated $1 trillion each year, and DSS’ innovative technology portfolio provides a comprehensive solution with significant licensing opportunities. The Company is currently beta-testing AuthentiGuard, a suite of solutions that enable brand owners to identify counterfeits in real time by scanning products with their iPhones.

DSS currently trades in the $2 range, down from its 52-week high of $4.60. The merger with Lexington provides a huge near-term catalyst for the stock. A favorable court ruling or news of a settlement later this year could send the stock soaring, producing big gains for those who were savvy enough to invest at current prices. Don’t miss out. To learn more about DSS, watch our interview with Jeff Ronaldi, the Company’s incoming CEO:

Gold reached its highest price in nearly a month on March 21, after the Cyprus bailout crisis reignited concerns about the stability of the Eurozone and sent investors scrambling for a financial safe haven.

Traditionally viewed as a hedge against inflation and a safe haven in times of economic turmoil, gold is up over 80 percent since the end of 2008. One way for investors to play the bull run in gold is Pan American Goldfields (OTCQB: MXOM), a Canadian junior mining company.

MXOM is generating cash flow from pilot production at its Cieneguita mine in Mexico’s Sierra Madre, which hosts a majority of Mexico’s gold and silver deposits. A recent mineral resource estimate shows measured and indicated resources of 1.26 million ounces au eq. and a further 700,000 au eq. inferred. The Company is currently mining within an inferred area and recovering more than twice the average grade. The mine has a higher-grade core, which is expected to accelerate the payback and improve the internal rate of return, which is expected to be at least over 30% to possibly more than 40%.”

The Cieneguita mine is currently operating under an agreement with partner Minera Rio Tinto, with production averaging over 500 tons per day. Engineering firm M3 is conducting a Preliminary Economic Assessment for a much larger operation, with a scoping study expected to be completed in April 2013. M3 is including measured, indicated and inferred resources in designing the size of the mill, which is expected to be 15,000 to 17,000 tons per day, equating to an annual production level of about 150,000 ounces au. eq. Should the Company reach this production level, MXOM could earn a net cash flow of nearly $134 million annually (based on $1,600 gold and $30 silver and a $600 per ounce eq. cash cost).

On an enterprise value to resource basis, the stock currently trades at a steep discount to its peer group average. RedChip initiated coverage of MXOM with a target price of $1.02, an upside of nearly 400% from recent prices. It’s important to note that this price target was issued at a time when the Company was only forecasting a 100,000 ounces au. eq. operation. With production underway and the PEA results just around the corner, now is a great time for investors to build a position in MXOM.

Those who want to learn more about MXOM can participate in the Company’s live webinar and conference call on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 1:15 p.m. Pacific time (4:15 p.m. ET). Management will be available to discuss its latest metallurgical testing and mineral resource results, and to answer questions from investors. Instructions on how to access the call are available here.

Glycol, a liquid chemical made from crude oil and natural gas, is found in a multitude of consumer and industrial products, including clothing and upholstery fabrics, plastic drink bottles, food packaging, and antifreeze. Worldwide glycol production currently stands at 5.5 billion gallons annually, increasing at a rate of 0.5 billion gallons per year.

During use, glycols become contaminated and unusable, producing a vast amount of waste glycol—over 700 million gallons per year in the U.S. alone. Current recycling methods are only effective for used antifreeze. Even with this technology, only 12% of used antifreeze waste is formulated into recycled antifreeze. Although the Environmental Protection Agency classifies waste glycol as a hazardous material, most waste glycol is disposed of without documentation. Improperly disposed glycols can leach into the soil and contaminate groundwater, endangering the environment.

Manufacturers in the other four waste-producing industries (textile, airline, medical, and HVAC) have no viable way to recycle used glycols into Type 1 (virgin-equivalent) material—until now. GlyEco (OTCQB: GLYE), a green chemistry company, is rolling out a breakthrough recycling technology that addresses this $25 billion unmet market need.

GLYE’s patent-pending technology enables used glycols from all five major waste-producing industries to be recycled into Type 1 materials repeatedly. The Company’s GlyEco Technology™ offers a 20% to 50% reduction in processing costs over currently utilized glycol recycling methods.

The Company is aggressively expanding its processing capacity to meet customer needs. GLYE acquired five profitable recyclers in 2012 and plans to acquire additional facilities in 2013. The Company plans to retrofit the facilities in the months ahead to make them capable of producing Type 1 materials.

GLYE is partnered with ethylene waste collectors and polyester manufacturing companies in multiple countries, and is making inroads with sources of waste ethylene glycol in South America and Asia. These existing relationships, as well as GLYE’s relationship with MEGlobal, a joint venture between Dow Chemical and Kuwait-based PIC, should provide the Company with a steady source of revenue once its technology is implemented.

GLYE is a first mover in the glycol recycling market with limited competition from established ethylene glycol producers. The Company is positioned for significant share price growth as it rolls out its proprietary technology in the months ahead. Trading in the low $1 range, GLYE provides investors with a compelling profit opportunity. To learn more about GLYE, watch our “RedChip Money Report” interview with Chairman and CEO John Lorenz:
